RECYCLED GIFTS FAIR
Wednesday, December 14 from 1:00-3:00 PM
Middle Creek Community Center
123 Middle Creek Park Ave Apex, NC 27539-7983
(held in conjunction with the weekly Homeschool Game Day/Open Gym held by the Town of Cary)

  • We will have a variety of projects turning trash into treasures
  • Make gifts for families and friends while helping to keep used plastics, papers, and metals out of our landfills and our waterways
  • Save the world and save money by making our low-cost crafts and projects
  • There will be a selection of age-appropriate activities for preschoolers (age 3 and up) through teenagers
  • All money raised will go to our environmental educational activities planned for 2012, including:
    • The Great Sea Slug Beauty Contest
    • The Crochet Coral Reef
    • Coral Reef Research Project

FINE PRINT FOR PARENTS:

H20 will be supplying materials, instructions, and assistance for a variety of projects, geared for ages 3-18, for a suggested donation per activity (ranging from $2-$10 per project, based on the complexity). Please note that there may be a minimum age level for some activities.

This is NOT a drop off activity. Either a parent or another adult responsible for the student must remain on the premises. However, if your child wishes to make you a surprise, you can be in the lobby or another room, socializing with other moms or reading your book, surfing the internet, etc.

There will be gift bags or wrapping materials available for a minimal donation so that students can keep any gifts they make hidden.

While this is a drop-in activity, there is limited space and materials available. Reserve your spot by RSVPing to Carol with the name(s) and age(s) of students participating.

  1. Thanks to everyone who came out to the Recycled Gift Fair yesterday! It was great fun seeing the children turn trash into treasure! These small efforts and activities start turning thoughts into bigger ideas of how we can do better with taking care of our ocean, and the world. Love the “bow” idea.
